Up for sale is a 2024 Fender Japan MIJ Ishibashi FSR Traditional ’50s Telecaster in Butterscotch Blonde, complete with a non-original tweed hard-shell case.

Built as a special Ishibashi FSR (Factory Special Run) model, this Japanese-market Telecaster takes the Traditional ’50s platform in a distinctive direction with an ash body and SH pickup configuration. A Fender Wide Range CuNiFe humbucker in the neck is paired with a Texas Special Telecaster single-coil in the bridge, giving this Tele a much broader tonal range than the standard Traditional ’50s configuration.

Classic Butterscotch Blonde, a black pickguard, maple fingerboard, and vintage-inspired hardware complete the traditional Telecaster appearance.

Wide Range CuNiFe & Texas Special Pickups

The unusual SH pickup configuration is one of the defining features of this Ishibashi FSR.

The Wide Range CuNiFe neck humbucker provides a fuller, warmer voice with greater body than a traditional Tele neck pickup, while the Texas Special bridge pickup delivers the bite, clarity, and punch expected from a Telecaster.

A standard 3-way blade switch keeps operation familiar and straightforward while providing three distinctly useful pickup combinations.

Neck & Playability

The maple neck features a comfortable U-shaped profile, measuring .85" at the 1st fret and .90" at the 12th, with a measured 1.63" nut width.

A 9.5" fingerboard radius provides a slightly more modern playing surface while the 21 vintage-style frets retain the traditional feel of the ’50s-inspired design.

At 7 lbs 14 oz, the guitar has a substantial, balanced feel without being excessively heavy.
