Up for sale is a 2015 Gibson Custom Shop Alex Lifeson Les Paul Axcess in Royal Crimson, complete with a non-original Gibson hard-shell case and Certificate of Authenticity.

Developed to the specifications of Rush legend Alex Lifeson, the Les Paul Axcess takes the foundation of a traditional Les Paul and adds an impressive range of modern performance features. With its contoured Axcess neck heel, Floyd Rose tremolo, Graph Tech Ghost piezo system, dual outputs, and versatile Gibson humbuckers, this is one of the most flexible Les Paul designs Gibson Custom has produced.

The Royal Crimson nitrocellulose finish beautifully showcases the figured maple top and gives the guitar an unmistakably high-end Custom Shop appearance.

Alex Lifeson Signature Design

The Alex Lifeson Les Paul Axcess was designed to give Lifeson the familiar sound and feel of a Les Paul while providing the versatility required to cover the enormous range of sounds found throughout Rush’s catalog.

Rather than simply adding signature cosmetics to a traditional Les Paul, Gibson Custom created an instrument with a substantially expanded feature set.

The result combines traditional Gibson humbuckers, a Floyd Rose tremolo, Graph Tech Ghost piezo saddles, series/parallel switching, dual outputs, and improved upper-fret access in a single Les Paul.

It’s an incredibly versatile design that can move between classic electric guitar sounds and convincing acoustic-style tones without changing instruments.

Axcess Neck Heel

One of the most important differences between this guitar and a traditional Les Paul is Gibson’s Axcess neck joint.

The traditional Les Paul heel has been dramatically contoured, creating much easier access to the upper frets.

This makes a significant difference when playing leads high on the neck and gives the guitar a distinctly more modern feel without sacrificing the familiar Les Paul scale length and overall character.

The neck itself is particularly comfortable, measuring:

The profile starts slim and fast in the lower positions before gradually becoming fuller as you move up the fingerboard.

Floyd Rose & Graph Tech Ghost Piezo
