Walnut & Gold FSR

The Walnut top and gold hardware are what immediately distinguish this FSR from a standard Traditional ’60s Stratocaster.

The rich natural character of the walnut contrasts beautifully with the black pickguard and gold-plated hardware, giving the guitar a look reminiscent of Fender’s more unusual upscale Stratocaster designs from the early 1980s.

Combined with its rosewood fingerboard and vintage-inspired appointments, it is an especially distinctive Fender Japan configuration.

Fender USA Original ’57/’62 Pickups

Rather than standard Traditional Series electronics, this FSR is equipped with Fender USA Original ’57/’62 Stratocaster single-coil pickups.

They complement the guitar’s vintage-inspired design while giving this special-run model another meaningful upgrade over a conventional Traditional ’60s Stratocaster.

Upgraded Hard-Shell Case

Another major advantage of this example is the included hard-shell case.

A hard-shell case is a significant upgrade over a soft gig bag, offering substantially better protection for storage, transportation, and shipping. The rigid construction is particularly valuable for protecting the neck, headstock, hardware, and finish from impacts that a soft bag simply cannot guard against as effectively.

It also makes for a considerably more complete and premium package. For anyone comparing this guitar with similar Fender Japan examples offered with gig bags, the included hard-shell case represents a meaningful added value and a substantial practical upgrade.
