For Sale: 2023 Fender Japan MIJ Traditional '60s Jaguar MH KI-23 FSR Sherwood Green Metallic Matching Headstock w/ Hard-Shell Case
Up for sale is a 2023 Fender Japan Made in Japan (MIJ) Traditional '60s Jaguar MH KI-23 Factory Special Run in the gorgeous Sherwood Green Metallic finish with a matching headstock, complete with a non-original hard-shell case.
Produced exclusively for the Japanese domestic market, the KI-23 Factory Special Run is one of the most desirable Jaguar models Fender Japan has released in recent years. Unlike the standard Traditional Series Jaguars, this special edition features an upgraded alder body, a bound rosewood fingerboard, and a matching Sherwood Green Metallic headstock, giving it the premium look and feel of a mid-'60s custom-color Jaguar.
The Sherwood Green Metallic finish is absolutely stunning in person. Depending on the lighting, it shifts between deep emerald green and rich metallic forest green, perfectly complemented by the matching painted headstock, white neck binding, mint green pickguard, and chrome hardware. It's an elegant vintage-inspired combination that immediately stands out from standard production Jaguars.
Unlike most Fender Japan Jaguars, which originally came with a gig bag, this guitar includes a non-original hard-shell case. Not only is this a significant upgrade for storage and travel, but it also ensures your guitar will arrive much better protected during shipping than it would in a gig bag.

Electronics & Features
This Factory Special Run Jaguar combines the unmistakable sound of a vintage Jaguar with several premium upgrades not found on standard Traditional Series models.
Most notably, Fender Japan upgraded this run with an alder body instead of the basswood used on standard production models. Alder provides the classic balanced Fender tone with excellent resonance, tight lows, clear mids, and sparkling highs, making it the preferred tonewood for many vintage enthusiasts.
The original vintage-style Jaguar single-coils deliver everything players expect from the model—bright attack, outstanding note definition, and the unmistakable chime that has made Jaguars favorites for surf, indie, alternative, shoegaze, and classic rock. The traditional lead and rhythm circuits, along with the individual pickup switching and bass-cut ("strangle") switch, provide an incredibly wide range of tones that few guitars can match.
Visually, this Jaguar is simply exceptional. The Sherwood Green Metallic finish, matching painted headstock, bound rosewood fingerboard, and mint green pickguard combine to create one of the most elegant and desirable Jaguar aesthetics Fender has ever offered.
Tone & Feel
The 24" short scale gives the Jaguar its signature feel, making bends effortless while providing the slightly looser string tension that offset enthusiasts love.
The comfortable "U" shaped neck fills the hand nicely without feeling oversized, while the vintage-correct 7.25" radius delivers an authentic early-'60s Fender playing experience.
At 8 lbs 4 oz, the guitar feels perfectly balanced and resonant, making it equally at home in the studio, on stage, or in a collection.
