For Sale: 2022 Fender Japan MIJ Michiya Haruhata Stratocaster Trans Pink w/ Original Gig Bag
Up for sale is a 2022 Fender Made in Japan Michiya Haruhata Stratocaster in the stunning Trans Pink finish, complete with its original Fender gig bag.
Designed in collaboration with legendary TUBE guitarist Michiya Haruhata, this signature model is based on his personal Fender Custom Shop "Michiya Haruhata III" Stratocaster and combines premium components, exceptional Japanese craftsmanship, and an incredibly versatile electronics package.
Haruhata was the first Japanese artist to receive a Fender signature model, and this guitar reflects his highly refined approach to the Stratocaster. Rather than simply modifying a traditional Strat, Fender created a purpose-built professional instrument with an HSH pickup layout, double-locking tremolo, unique switching options, and a neck profile derived from Haruhata's own Custom Shop guitar.
Visually, the Trans Pink finish is absolutely stunning. The transparent gloss allows the flame maple top and underlying grain to remain visible, creating incredible depth and movement as the guitar catches the light. Combined with the clean pickguard-free body, maple fingerboard, and premium hardware, it has an unmistakably high-end appearance.

Electronics & Features
This Michiya Haruhata Stratocaster was designed from the beginning as a serious professional instrument, and its electronics are one of the biggest reasons why.
The HSH pickup configuration provides a huge tonal range while combining two well-known DiMarzio humbuckers with a traditional Fender single-coil voice in the middle position.
The DiMarzio FRED DP153 in the bridge is known for its strong harmonic response, articulate attack, and singing lead character. It has enough output for aggressive rock tones while retaining excellent clarity and definition.
The Fender Custom Shop Texas Special in the middle provides the unmistakable snap, sparkle, and midrange character of a great Stratocaster single-coil.
In the neck position, the DiMarzio Air Norton DP193 delivers a warmer, smoother voice with thick lead tones and excellent articulation for clean playing.
The push-push tone control adds another layer of versatility by allowing the neck pickup to be engaged independently of the standard five-way selector. This opens up additional pickup combinations that aren't available on a conventional Stratocaster.
Double-Locking Tremolo
The factory double-locking tremolo system gives this guitar the stability needed for aggressive vibrato work while maintaining accurate tuning.
Whether you're using subtle vibrato, wide pitch changes, or more extreme tremolo techniques, the locking system makes the guitar far more capable than a traditional vintage-style Strat bridge.
Combined with the HSH electronics, this makes the Haruhata model particularly well suited for players who want the familiar ergonomics of a Stratocaster but need considerably more performance versatility.
Neck & Playability
Another standout feature is the Michiya Haruhata Soft "V" neck profile.
The profile was created from Haruhata's own Custom Shop instrument, giving this signature model a feel that is much more specific than a generic production neck shape.
On this example, the neck measures .88" at the 1st fret and .97" at the 12th fret, gradually becoming more substantial as you move toward the upper register.
The 9.5" fingerboard radius and 22 medium jumbo frets provide an excellent balance between classic Fender feel and modern playability. String bending is comfortable, while chords still retain the familiar ergonomics players expect from a Stratocaster.
Tone & Feel
This guitar is every bit as versatile as it is visually striking.
The ash body and flame maple top contribute a lively, immediate response with plenty of snap and definition, while the HSH pickup configuration allows the guitar to move effortlessly from sparkling cleans to thick, sustaining rock tones.
The bridge FRED is excellent for articulate rhythm and lead work, the middle Texas Special provides classic Fender character, and the Air Norton neck pickup produces smooth, singing tones with plenty of warmth.
At 9 lbs 6 oz, the guitar has a substantial, solid feel and balances nicely in playing position.
Whether you're playing fusion, rock, pop, blues, instrumental music, or higher-gain styles, this guitar offers an unusually broad range of usable sounds without sacrificing the fundamental feel of a Stratocaster.
Trans Pink Flame Maple Top
The finish deserves special mention because it is one of the defining features of this model.
The Trans Pink color is applied in a way that allows the figuring of the flame maple top to remain clearly visible beneath the finish.
Depending on the lighting and viewing angle, the top can shift from deeper pink and red tones to brighter highlights while the flame figuring moves underneath the finish.
Combined with the pickguard-free design, it gives this guitar a sleek, boutique-inspired appearance that immediately separates it from a standard-production Stratocaster.
