Up for sale is a 2019 Rickenbacker 4003 Bass in the iconic Jetglo finish, complete with its original Rickenbacker hard-shell case.

Few basses are as instantly recognizable as the Rickenbacker 4003. From its distinctive body shape and binding to its unmistakable pickup configuration and tone, the 4003 has remained one of the defining electric bass designs for decades.

This 2019 example is 100% original, weighs 9 lbs 2 oz, and features the Vintage Tone Selector push/pull control for access to both classic and modern Rickenbacker tones.

Condition

This bass is in very good condition, showing only:

Classic Rickenbacker 4003

Vintage Tone Selector

The push/pull treble tone control incorporates Rickenbacker’s Vintage Tone Selector.

With the control in its standard position, the bass delivers the fuller response of a modern 4003. Pulling the control engages a capacitor in the treble pickup circuit, reducing some low-frequency content and emphasizing the brighter, crisper character associated with vintage Rickenbacker bass tones.

This gives the bass additional tonal flexibility without altering its classic control layout.

Neck & Playability

The neck has a comfortable medium profile, measuring .89" at the 1st fret and .91" at the 12th, with a measured 1.70" nut width.

The rosewood fingerboard and relatively consistent neck depth provide a comfortable feel from the lower positions through the upper register.

At 9 lbs 2 oz, the bass has a solid, substantial feel while remaining manageable for a full-size 4003.
