Up for sale is a 2008 Fender American Vintage ’62 Reissue (AVRI) Jazzmaster in classic 3-Tone Sunburst, complete with its original Fender hard-shell case.

The American Vintage ’62 Jazzmaster is one of Fender’s most respected U.S.-made vintage reissues, faithfully recreating the look, feel, and character of an early-’60s Jazzmaster. With its alder body, slab rosewood fingerboard, vintage 7.25" radius, original AVRI Jazzmaster pickups, traditional lead and rhythm circuits, and nitrocellulose lacquer finish, this guitar delivers an authentic vintage-inspired Jazzmaster experience.

The American Vintage ’62 Jazzmaster retains the unique electronics that helped make the original Jazzmaster one of Fender’s most distinctive designs.

The original Fender AVRI Jazzmaster single-coils provide the broad, open sound associated with a proper vintage-style Jazzmaster. They have plenty of clarity and definition while retaining a fuller, wider character than traditional Stratocaster-style single-coils.

The traditional dual-circuit electronics provide two very different personalities.

The lead circuit delivers the familiar open and articulate Jazzmaster sound, while the separate rhythm circuit provides a darker, warmer voice that works beautifully for mellow rhythm playing and smoother clean tones.

The vintage-style floating tremolo incorporates the traditional tremolo lock button, retaining one of the signature features of the original Jazzmaster design.

Tone & Feel

This guitar delivers everything players look for in a vintage-style Jazzmaster.

The original AVRI pickups produce a wide, airy response with full lows, clear highs, rich harmonic content, and excellent note separation. Chords remain articulate and complex, while individual notes have the distinctive attack and character that have made the Jazzmaster a favorite across surf, alternative, indie, shoegaze, rock, jazz, and countless other styles.

The slab rosewood fingerboard and 7.25" radius contribute to an authentically vintage Fender playing experience, while the slim ’60s C-shaped neck feels comfortable and familiar in the hand.

The neck measures .83" at the 1st fret and .92" at the 12th fret, gradually filling out as you move toward the upper register.

At 7 lbs 14 oz, the guitar feels nicely balanced and comfortable while still having a substantial, resonant feel.
