Up for sale is a 2004 Gibson Custom Shop '68 Les Paul Custom Reissue in the iconic Ebony finish, complete with its original Gibson Custom Shop hard-shell case.

One of the flagship Historic Collection models of its era, the '68 Les Paul Custom Reissue faithfully recreates the legendary Les Paul Custom that helped define the sound and look of late-'60s Gibson guitars. Featuring a long neck tenon, solid mahogany body with carved maple top, ebony fingerboard, and a substantial chunky '50s neck profile, this Custom Shop instrument delivers the feel and tone that have made these reissues favorites among serious players and collectors.

While the original Certificate of Authenticity is unfortunately missing, this guitar retains its original Custom Shop case and has been tastefully upgraded with premium components that make it an exceptional player's instrument.

The 2004 Custom Shop '68 Reissue was built to capture the construction methods and feel of the original late-'60s Les Paul Customs, including the coveted long neck tenon, ebony fingerboard, and substantial neck profile that contribute to its outstanding sustain and resonance.

This example has been upgraded with a premium set of Seymour Duncan SH-18 Whole Lotta Humbuckers, inspired by the legendary pickups Seymour Duncan wound for Jimmy Page during the late 1970s. These pickups deliver a wonderfully balanced vintage British voice with moderate output, exceptional note definition, and rich harmonic complexity.

Their rough-cast Alnico V magnets provide warm lows, articulate mids, and smooth highs while naturally pushing an amplifier into organic overdrive. They excel at everything from blues and classic rock to fusion, hard rock, and even heavier styles without sacrificing clarity or dynamics.

Please note that the original Gibson pickups are not included with the guitar.

The installation of a Callaham ABR-1 bridge is another outstanding upgrade. Renowned for their precision machining and superior materials, Callaham bridges improve sustain, note definition, and tuning stability while preserving vintage correctness. The original Gibson bridge is included in the case, although it shows significant cosmetic wear from years of use.

The upgraded brass nut further enhances sustain and tuning stability, making this an exceptional player's Les Paul Custom.
