For Sale: 1999 Fender Japan CIJ JM66-80 '62 Vintage Reissue Jazzmaster Blonde Ash w/ Hard-Shell Case
Up for sale is a 1999 Fender Japan CIJ JM66-80 '62 Vintage Reissue Jazzmaster in the beautiful and highly sought-after Blonde Ash finish, complete with a non-original hard-shell case.
The JM66-80 is one of Fender Japan's finest vintage reissues, faithfully capturing the look, feel, and sound of an early-1960s Jazzmaster. Featuring an ash body finished in translucent Blonde, a vintage-correct 7.25" radius rosewood fingerboard, floating tremolo, and traditional Jazzmaster electronics, this model delivers everything players love about the original offset design while showcasing the exceptional craftsmanship that made Fender Japan instruments legendary.
The Blonde Ash finish is especially desirable, allowing the beautiful ash grain to show through the translucent finish for a classic vintage appearance that stands apart from more common custom colors.
Unlike most Fender Japan Jazzmasters, which originally shipped with only a gig bag, this guitar includes a non-original hard-shell case. Not only is this a significant upgrade for storage and travel, but it also ensures your guitar will arrive much better protected during shipping than it would in a gig bag.

Electronics & Features
The JM66-80 was designed to faithfully recreate the classic 1962 Jazzmaster experience while benefiting from the outstanding fit and finish that Fender Japan became famous for during the late 1990s.
Its vintage-style Jazzmaster single-coil pickups produce the unmistakable wide, open sound that has made the model a favorite across surf, indie, alternative, jazz, blues, and shoegaze. Rich lows, articulate mids, sparkling highs, and outstanding note separation give the guitar an incredibly expressive voice.
The traditional dual-circuit wiring offers remarkable tonal flexibility. The lead circuit provides the familiar bright, dynamic Jazzmaster sound, while the rhythm circuit delivers a warmer, darker voice that's perfect for smooth cleans and mellow passages.
Perhaps the standout feature of this guitar is its beautiful Blonde Ash finish. Unlike solid colors, the translucent finish showcases the natural grain of the ash body, giving each instrument its own unique appearance while delivering timeless vintage style.
Tone & Feel
Everything about this JM66-80 captures the magic of an early-'60s Jazzmaster.
The vintage-correct 7.25" radius and comfortable neck profile provide an authentic Fender playing experience, while the floating tremolo delivers smooth, expressive vibrato that has defined the Jazzmaster for generations.
The ash body gives the guitar excellent resonance and a lively acoustic response, complementing the articulate voice of the Jazzmaster pickups with added snap and clarity.
At 8 lbs 0 oz, the guitar feels perfectly balanced whether seated or standing, making it equally comfortable for long rehearsals, recording sessions, or live performances.
