TL69-115 All Rosewood Telecaster
The TL69-115 occupies a special place in Fender Japan's early catalog.
Built during the highly regarded Fujigen era, it recreated the exceptionally rare Rosewood Telecaster design Fender introduced at the end of the 1960s.
Although designated a ’69 reissue, this model uses the chambered construction associated with later 1971–72 Rosewood Telecasters, reducing some of the weight inherent to an instrument built so extensively from rosewood while retaining the unmistakable look and character of the design.
The result is a Telecaster that feels, responds, and looks dramatically different from the traditional ash or alder versions.
George Harrison Connection
The Rosewood Telecaster is inseparably linked with George Harrison, who received one of Fender's original examples and famously played it during the Beatles' January 1969 rooftop performance.
That association helped turn the all-rosewood Telecaster into one of the most recognizable and collectible variations of Fender's classic design.
Fender Japan's TL69-115 brought that distinctive concept back in a meticulously built Japanese reissue during what is now considered one of the most desirable periods of MIJ Fender production.
Rosewood Construction & Feel
Rosewood gives this Telecaster a distinctly substantial and resonant character.
The 7.25" fingerboard radius provides a traditional vintage Fender feel, while the neck measures:
- 1.68" Nut Width
- .82" Depth at the 1st Fret
- .88" Depth at the 12th Fret
At 9 lbs 4 oz, the guitar has a solid feel in the hands without being excessively heavy for an all-rosewood Telecaster.
The combination of its chambered construction and extensive use of rosewood gives this model a personality all its own—both acoustically and amplified.
Original Fender Bag
The guitar includes its original bag, a nice addition for an early Fender Japan instrument of this age.
