’62 Telecaster Custom Styling

The double-bound Candy Apple Red body gives the TL62B its unmistakable early-’60s Telecaster Custom appearance.

Cream-colored binding outlines both the front and back of the body, creating a striking contrast against the metallic Candy Apple Red finish. Paired with the rosewood fingerboard and vintage-style appointments, it captures one of the most recognizable Telecaster configurations of the era.

Vintage Fender Japan / FujiGen Era

The TL62B-650 designation identifies this as Fender Japan’s vintage-inspired ’62-style bound-body Telecaster, with the 650 designation corresponding to its original Japanese catalog price tier.

Made during Fender Japan’s FujiGen period, this guitar comes from the formative years of Japanese Fender production and offers the vintage styling and construction details that have made early MIJ Fender instruments increasingly sought after.

Hard-Shell Case Upgrade

Another major advantage of this guitar is the included hard-shell case.

For a vintage instrument of this age, a quality hard-shell case is a significant upgrade over transporting or storing the guitar in a soft gig bag. The rigid shell provides substantially greater protection for the neck, headstock, body, and finish from impacts and pressure during storage, travel, and shipping.

It is an especially worthwhile addition for a nearly 40-year-old Fender Japan instrument and makes this a much more complete and protective package for its next owner.
