Up for sale is a 2010 Martin HD-28V Vintage Series in classic Natural, complete with its original Martin hard-shell case.

The HD-28V has long been one of the most highly regarded models from Martin’s now-discontinued Vintage Series. Designed to capture much of the look, feel, and powerful voice associated with vintage pre-war-style dreadnoughts, the HD-28V combines a Sitka spruce top, East Indian rosewood back and sides, ebony fingerboard, Modified V neck profile, and vintage-inspired appointments.

This is a fantastic example with the big, open sound you want from a great Martin dreadnought. At just 4 lbs 12 oz, it feels lively and resonant in the hands and has been professionally set up and is ready to play.

Tone & Feel

The HD-28V is known for delivering the kind of large, powerful dreadnought voice that has made Martin acoustics legendary.

The Sitka spruce top provides excellent clarity, dynamic range, and projection, while the East Indian rosewood back and sides contribute deep lows, rich overtones, and a full, complex character.

Strummed hard, it has the volume and authority you expect from a great rosewood dreadnought. Played lightly, it remains responsive and detailed, with plenty of warmth and harmonic richness.

Modified V Neck

Another defining feature of the HD-28V is its Modified V neck profile.

This neck measures .86" at the 1st fret and .98" at the 9th fret, giving it a substantial vintage-inspired feel that gradually fills out as you move up the neck.

Paired with the 1.75" nut width, there is plenty of room for clean fretting and precise chord work without the neck feeling excessively bulky.

The ebony fingerboard provides a smooth playing surface and complements the guitar's traditional high-end Martin appointments.

The guitar comes complete with its original Martin hard-shell case.
