For Sale: 2024 Gibson Custom Shop M2M SJ-200 Original – Transparent Cherry | OHSC + COA

Up for sale is a 2024 Gibson Custom Shop Made 2 Measure SJ-200 Original in a stunning and very rare Transparent Cherry finish, complete with its original Gibson hard-shell case and Certificate of Authenticity.

Built through Gibson Custom’s Made 2 Measure (M2M) program, this exceptional SJ-200 pairs the legendary Super Jumbo platform with a striking custom-order finish. The Transparent Cherry lacquer allows the natural figuring of the maple back and sides to remain visible while giving the guitar a dramatically different appearance from a traditional SJ-200.

Made 2 Measure Transparent Cherry

Gibson’s Made 2 Measure program allows for custom specifications outside the standard production catalog, and the Transparent Cherry finish makes this SJ-200 immediately stand apart.

Rather than concealing the figuring beneath an opaque color, the translucent finish allows the character of the maple to remain visible, particularly across the back and sides.

It’s a beautiful and very rarely encountered treatment for Gibson’s iconic Super Jumbo.

Classic SJ-200 Construction

Underneath the custom finish is the traditional tonewood combination that has helped define the SJ-200 for generations: a solid Sitka spruce top paired with figured maple back and sides.

Traditional hand-scalloped X-bracing complements the massive Super Jumbo body, producing the projection, clarity, and expansive response associated with Gibson’s legendary “King of the Flat-Tops.”

Rosewood Fingerboard & Playability

The rosewood fingerboard features the SJ-200’s signature graduated crown inlays and is paired with a full 1.75" nut width.

The neck measures .89" at the 1st fret and .94" at the 9th fret, giving this example a comfortable profile with enough substance for a traditional acoustic feel.

Its unusually light 4 lb 14 oz weight also makes this large-bodied guitar surprisingly manageable in hand.

Classic SJ-200 Appointments

The famous rosewood Moustache bridge with decorative inlays, ornate binding, crown fingerboard inlays, and other upscale appointments give the SJ-200 the unmistakable presentation expected from Gibson’s flagship acoustic design.

An onboard L.R. Baggs system also makes the guitar ready for amplified performance.
