Up for sale is a 2010 Fender Japan MIJ HJG-66KC V Ikebe Limited Kurt Cobain Signature Jaguar in classic Sunburst, complete with a non-original hard-shell case.

Produced for the Japanese market as an Ikebe Limited model, the HJG-66KC series recreated the distinctive modified Jaguar configuration associated with Kurt Cobain before Fender's later production signature model.

This V-version combines the traditional short-scale Jaguar platform with an alder body, bound rosewood fingerboard, USA-made DiMarzio PAF and Super Distortion humbuckers, Tune-O-Matic bridge, Jaguar vibrato, and its distinctive three-knob control layout.

Ikebe Limited Kurt Cobain Model

The HJG-66KC was produced for Ikebe Gakki in Japan and is a considerably less common predecessor to the later widely available Kurt Cobain Jaguar.

Several configurations were produced to reflect different stages of the modifications made to Cobain's Jaguar. The HJG-66KC V is distinguished by its three chrome control knobs while retaining the Jaguar-style switching arrangement.

For players and collectors interested in Japanese Fender models or Cobain-related instruments, this is a particularly interesting variation that is seldom encountered compared with the later production signature model.

USA DiMarzio Humbuckers

A major part of the HJG-66KC's personality comes from its USA-made DiMarzio humbuckers.

The DiMarzio PAF in the neck delivers a warmer, more open vintage-style humbucker voice, while the Super Distortion at the bridge provides substantially more output, punch, and aggression.

That combination gives the guitar plenty of versatility while capturing the powerful humbucker-driven character closely associated with Cobain's modified Jaguar.

The traditional 24" Jaguar scale gives this guitar the compact, slinky feel that makes the model so distinctive.
