Up for sale is a 2005 Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul Custom in Alpine White, complete with its original Gibson Custom Shop hard-shell case.

This classic Les Paul Custom has aged beautifully, with the Alpine White finish developing a warmer appearance along with extensive natural finish checking and honest playwear. Paired with an ebony fingerboard, gold hardware, and the unmistakable appointments of a Les Paul Custom, it has a fantastic naturally aged look.

The certificate of authenticity is not included.

Condition

Very Good – 8.5/10

This guitar shows honest cosmetic wear and natural aging, including:

• Light scratches

• Small dings

• Aging and discoloration of the Alpine White finish

• Extensive finish checking throughout

• Light tarnishing and aging of the gold hardware

There are no cracks, breaks, repairs, or structural issues.

The guitar is original with the exception of the replaced plastic control knobs.

The neck is straight and stable, and the original frets remain in excellent condition with minimal wear. It has been professionally inspected and set up by our in-house luthier with low action and plays cleanly up and down the fingerboard with no buzzing or dead spots.

The finish shows extensive checking along with areas of discoloration, light scratches, and small dings, while the gold hardware has developed light tarnishing. Together, these details give the guitar genuine played-in character that could only come from years of natural aging.

The dark ebony fingerboard provides a striking contrast against the aged white finish and gold hardware.

Ebony Fingerboard & Rounded Neck

The mahogany neck has a comfortable rounded profile, measuring .85" at the 1st fret and .99" at the 12th, with a measured 1.67" nut width.

The ebony fingerboard provides the smooth, solid playing surface associated with Les Paul Customs of this era, while the frets remain in excellent condition with minimal wear.

Gibson 490R & 498T Humbuckers

The Gibson 490R neck and 498T bridge humbuckers provide the powerful, versatile voice associated with Les Paul Customs of this period.

The 490R offers a warm, full neck tone, while the higher-output 498T delivers plenty of punch, clarity, and sustain from the bridge position.
