Up for sale is a 2022 Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul Axcess Custom in Silverburst, featuring the less-common factory stop-tail configuration rather than the Floyd Rose setup frequently seen on Axcess Customs. It comes with its original Gibson Custom Shop hard-shell case and Certificate of Authenticity.

This example combines traditional Les Paul Custom appointments with the more ergonomic Axcess design, including a contoured neck heel and rear body contour. It features a carved maple top, weight-relieved mahogany body, long-tenon mahogany neck, ebony fingerboard, and factory-installed uncovered Gibson 496R humbuckers in both the neck and bridge positions.

Condition

Excellent – 9/10

This guitar is in excellent condition, showing only light scratches and a few small dings from normal handling and use.

The back of the headstock is factory stamped “DEMO,” indicating an instrument Gibson designated for minor cosmetic or production blemishes.

The original Certificate of Authenticity is included. The COA booklet/holder and factory spec sheet are not included.

Axcess Construction

The Axcess design updates the traditional Les Paul Custom platform with a sculpted neck heel and rear body contour, providing easier upper-fret access and a more comfortable fit against the player.

At 7 lbs 14 oz, this example also offers a notably manageable weight for a full-featured Les Paul Custom-style instrument.

Factory Stop-Tail Configuration

Rather than the Floyd Rose tremolo found on many Les Paul Axcess Customs, this guitar uses a traditional ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and stop-bar tailpiece.

The result combines the comfort and upper-fret access of the Axcess platform with a more traditional fixed-bridge Les Paul layout.

Dual Gibson 496R Humbuckers & Coil Splitting

This guitar is equipped with factory uncovered Gibson 496R humbuckers in both the neck and bridge positions.

The electronics feature two volume and two tone controls, with push-pull coil-split switches on the tone pots for additional single-coil tonal versatility. A three-way toggle provides traditional neck, bridge, and combined pickup selection.

Ebony Fingerboard & Custom Appointments

The bound ebony fingerboard, mother-of-pearl block inlays, multi-ply appointments, and Silverburst finish give the guitar the unmistakable appearance of a Les Paul Custom.

Combined with its slim-profile long-tenon mahogany neck, the Axcess construction retains the upscale Custom aesthetic while offering a distinctly more streamlined playing experience.
