For Sale: 2000s Mosrite Ventures Model Super Custom ’65 – Surf Green w/ OHSC

Up for sale is a 2000s Mosrite Ventures Model Super Custom ’65 in Surf Green, complete with its original hard-shell case.

This is a very cool Japanese-made Mosrite reissue built with the look, feel, and unmistakable style that made the original Ventures models so iconic. Produced at the Kurokumo factory, these reissues are known for being some of the better modern Mosrite-style instruments, with strong build quality and very faithful vintage-inspired specs. Finished in Surf Green, this one has all the classic mid-century surf vibe you’d want, and it is an especially clean example.

Condition

This guitar is in excellent condition and I would rate it a very clean 9.5/10. It shows only light scratches on the pickguard from very light use. Please review all photos carefully for the most accurate representation of condition.

There are no cracks, breaks, repairs, or issues. The neck is straight, the frets are in excellent condition, and the guitar plays cleanly up and down the neck with no buzzing or dead spots. It has also been recently professionally set up and is ready to go.

The original hard-shell case is included.

Electronics & Features

One of the standout features of this model is how faithfully it captures the classic Mosrite formula. The deep German carve, zero fret, narrow nut, and Vibramute tremolo all contribute to the unique feel these guitars are known for, and the original-spec L-2800 pickups give it the bright, cutting, unmistakably Mosrite voice players look for.

These Japanese Kurokumo-made reissues are especially desirable because they tend to be very well built and much harder to find than many standard production offset-style guitars. For anyone chasing that Ventures-inspired surf sound and style, this is a great one.

Tone & Feel

This guitar has the fast, snappy, and articulate response that makes a good Mosrite so distinctive. The pickups deliver bright, punchy single-coil tone with plenty of clarity and attack, making it a great fit for surf, instrumental rock, garage, and jangly clean playing.

The neck has a comfortable, quick feel, and the very shallow depth profile makes the guitar feel especially fast and easy to navigate. At 7 lbs 10 oz, it has a balanced, comfortable feel in hand and is easy to play for long sessions.
