Up for sale is a rare 2001 Gibson Nikki Sixx Blackbird Thunderbird Bass in its original matte black finish. This signature model is increasingly hard to find and comes complete with the original Gibson hard-shell case.

Condition

This bass is in very good condition and fully functional. It has been played and shows:

  • Light scratches and dings throughout

  • Some finish wear on the back

  • Original Gibson case included – shows cosmetic wear

  • Original rear hinges have been repaired and reinstalled with screws in place of the original rivets

  • Combo latch on the case is broken off

There are no cracks, repairs, or structural issues with the instrument. The neck is straight, and the frets show minimal wear. It has been professionally set up by Guitar Chimp for optimal playability—no buzzing or dead spots.
