Up for sale is a killer 2001 Gibson Thunderbird IV in Classic White, complete with its original Gibson hard-shell case.

This early-2000s Thunderbird is especially striking with its Classic White finish and ebony fingerboard and has been upgraded with Lollar Thunderbird pickups, Hipshot tuners, and a Hipshot Thunderbird bridge.

The original bridge and tuners are included in the case. The original pickups are not included. The nut has also been replaced.

At 8 lbs 10 oz, it's a very manageable weight for a full-size Thunderbird and has been professionally set up to play exceptionally well.

This bass shows honest cosmetic wear consistent with its age, including:

• Finish checking along the sides of the neck and throughout the bass

The Lollar Thunderbird humbuckers deliver the big, muscular low end and aggressive midrange character players expect from a Thunderbird, with excellent clarity and note definition.

Dig in with a pick and the bass delivers plenty of attack and growl. Played with the fingers, it offers a thick fundamental with enough definition to remain clear in a mix.

The thin neck measures .81" at the 1st fret and .96" at the 12th, with a measured 1.52" nut width.

At 8 lbs 10 oz, this example is also a comfortable weight for a full-size Gibson Thunderbird.
