For Sale: 2001 Gibson Custom Shop Historic ’56 Les Paul Goldtop R6 | Early Golden-Era Historic | OHSC + COA

Up for sale is a beautiful 2001 Gibson Custom Shop Historic ’56 Reissue Les Paul Goldtop (R6), complete with its original hard-shell case and certificate of authenticity. The case shows heavy cosmetic wear (see photos) but is fully functional.

This is a golden-era early 2000s Historic, highly sought after for their build quality, tonewoods, and accuracy—arguably some of the best guitars the Custom Shop ever produced.

Condition

9/10 – Excellent

  • Light scratches and a few small dings (all shown in the photos)

  • No cracks, breaks, or repairs

  • Neck is straight and plays cleanly across the board

  • Original frets are in excellent condition with zero wear

  • Recently set up here at Guitar Chimp—no buzzing or dead spots
