Up for sale is a 1997 Gibson Flying V ’67 Reissue in naturally aged Classic White, complete with its original Gibson hard-shell case.

This nearly 30-year-old V has developed a fantastic vintage appearance, with the original white finish naturally yellowing over time and extensive finish checking throughout. Paired with its slim ’60s neck, ebony fingerboard, and original Gibson 496R/500T humbuckers, it has all the aggressive looks and feel you want from a classic Flying V.

Condition

This guitar shows honest playwear, including scratches, dings, and extensive finish checking throughout.

The Classic White finish has naturally aged and yellowed over the years, and there are faded areas on the back where stickers were previously applied.

There are no cracks, breaks, repairs, or structural issues.

The neck is straight and stable, and the original frets remain in excellent condition. The guitar has been professionally inspected and set up by our in-house luthier and plays cleanly with comfortable action and no buzzing or dead spots.

The original Gibson hard-shell case is included. It shows expected wear from age and use but remains fully functional.

Naturally Aged Classic White

One of the standout features of this Flying V is the way its Classic White finish has naturally aged over nearly three decades.

The finish has taken on a warm, yellowed-white appearance and developed extensive checking, giving the guitar genuine age and character that would be difficult to replicate artificially.

The faded sticker marks on the back are another part of its history and are clearly shown in the photos.

Ebony Fingerboard & Slim ’60s Neck

The combination of a Slim ’60s neck profile and ebony fingerboard gives this V a fast, responsive feel.

With measured depths of .83" at the 1st fret and .87" at the 12th, the neck stays relatively slim as you move up the fingerboard—ideal for players who prefer a thinner Gibson neck.

Original 496R & 500T Humbuckers

The original Gibson 496R neck and 500T bridge humbuckers remain in place along with the original electronics.

The 500T provides the high-output punch and aggression that suits the Flying V particularly well, while the 496R balances it with a powerful neck voice for leads, heavier rhythm work, and warmer tones.
