For sale is a 1992 Gibson Flying V in Vintage Sunburst with the original Gibson case. This guitar has been played, is in very good condition, in perfect working order, and plays great. There are some scratches, dings, and some clear coat flaking on the neck by the fingerboard. Overall, I would rate the condition, a solid 8.5 out of 10. The serial number on this guitar would date it to 1982 but it is not. There have been about a dozen confirmed '92 Flying V's that left the factory with '82 serial numbers. This has been discussed on The Flying V owners FB page as well as other boards. The consensus is that for 1 day there was an error in the serial number printing on these and Gibson just never corrected the error. A previous owner had '81 Gibson Tim Shaw era humbuckers put in along with '81 Gibson pots. The guitar is very much like a 1982 flying V but it's not. If you are familiar with the Tim Shaw era pickups, you will know that they are regarded as some of the best PAF reissues ever made. There are no cracks, repairs, or issues. The neck is straight with no issues and plays great. The original frets are in excellent condition with no wear. It has been set up by or luthier. There is no buzzing or dead spots. The case does have some wear and a broken combo latch but works great.
