For sale is a 1960 Gibson Les Paul JR that was converted to a Les Paul special, with a non-original case. This guitar has been played, has a number of modifications, and has tons of vintage player vibe. The non-original case is old, and has lots of wear, but works great.
The first, modification, is the guitar was converted from an LP special from a JR. The original dog ear P-90 was removed from the bridge position and replaced with another P-90. A second P-90 was added at the neck position. The body had to be routed for the neck pickup. The pots, caps, bridge, pickguard, tuners, and frets have all been replaced. We do not have any of those original parts. The new tuners are Schallers. There are extra holes from the original tuners.
The full-scale neck on this guitar is straight, with no issues, and plays great with the re-fret. A lot of these guitars with original frets are very worn, while this guitar has no fret-wear. Overall, this guitar is in good condition and in perfect working order. There are scratches, dings, lots of finish checking, wear on the back and a repaired crack at the neck joint that extends into the body. We did not do the repair, but our luthier has checked it out, and it's solid.
If you've ever wanted one of these as a player and didn't want to fork over the 5-8K, don't miss this opportunity to snag this one up, before it's gone.
