For sale is a rare 2022 Gibson Custom Shop Peter Frampton "Phenix" Les Paul Custom with the original hard-shell case and certificate of authenticity. The "Phenix" Les Paul Custom is the iconic guitar featured on the cover of the classic "Frampton Comes Alive!" LP and thought to be lost in 1980 but miraculously recovered over thirty years later. Now, the Gibson Custom Shop presents a VOS rendition of this guitar as an Artist model.

This guitar has been played but is in excellent, very clean condition and perfect working order. There are some light scratches and a few small dings, contributing to an overall rating of a solid 9 out of 10. Everything on the guitar is original, and there are no cracks, repairs, or issues. The neck is straight with no problems, and the original frets are in excellent condition with no signs of wear. The setup has been recently done to ensure optimal playability.

Featuring all the classic Les Paul Custom cosmetic appointments, this Phenix-inspired model also includes a weight-relieved mahogany body with a solid mahogany top, gold hardware, Grover tuners, Schaller Strap Locks, and three open-coil Custombucker hum-buckers. The VOS finish gives it a vintage look without the dings and scars of the original Phenix.

Custom wiring adds to its versatility. The 3-way toggle switch controls the neck and bridge pickups, similar to a two-pickup Les Paul Custom, sharing a volume and tone control. The second set of volume and tone controls are connected to the middle pickup, usable with either or both of the other two pickups. It can even be used on its own when the others are turned down.
