Up for sale is a 1990 Fender "Order Made" Precision Bass ‘62 vintage reissue model PB62-115WAL, in excellent, 100% original condition. This bass features a satin nitro lacquer finish and gold hardware. The instrument has been well-preserved, with only some light scratches, a few small dings, and minor tarnishing on the gold hardware. Crafted at the esteemed Fujigen factory during the golden era of Fender Japan production, this “Made in Japan” bass was part of Fender Japan’s Order Made program, known for offering non-catalog models with unique features.
The bass is constructed with an ash body, a maple neck, and a thick slab rosewood fretboard, delivering a smooth and balanced acoustic response with detailed midrange and note attack. The pickup provides a broad, thumping tone with sweet trebles and a natural growl, making this bass as resonant as it is playable, with a weight of 9 lbs 0 oz.
The maple neck has a slender C-shaped profile at the nut, gaining more shoulder and heft in the upper registers, measuring .81” at the 1st fret and .97” at the 12th. The thick slab rosewood fretboard features rolled edges, a 7 1/4“ radius, and immaculate slender fretwire. This bass plays cleanly across its 34” scale, with a straight neck and a responsive, well-adjusted truss rod. The carved bone nut measures 1 11/16” in width. The gold clover-button tuning machines on the headstock have full-size vintage-spec baseplates and operate smoothly. The “Made in Japan” text and K-prefix serial number are clearly visible above the gold four-bolt neck plate, and the neck pocket retains the Order Made stamp.
The satin nitro lacquer Walnut finish accentuates the dynamic grain of the ash body, with minimal cosmetic wear—just a couple of tiny nicks. The smooth satin finish on the neck profile is flawless.
Included with the bass is the original Fender-branded gigbag.
This bass is entirely original, with no cracks, repairs, or issues. The neck is straight, and the original frets are in excellent condition with no wear. There are no buzzing or dead spots, ensuring a flawless playing experience. The bass has recently been set up for optimal performance.
To ensure full transparency, detailed photos of the guitar's condition are provided. The bass depicted in the listing is the actual instrument you will be purchasing—no stock photos are used.
