For Sale: 2003 Gibson Les Paul Classic Double Cutaway P-90 Goldtop w/ OHSC
Up for sale is a 2003 Gibson Les Paul Classic Double Cutaway P-90 in Goldtop, complete with its original hard-shell case.
This is a very cool and somewhat under-the-radar Gibson model that blends classic Les Paul tone with a lighter, more comfortable double cutaway design. Featuring a mahogany body with a carved maple top, a fast ’60s SlimTaper neck, and a pair of P-90 pickups, this guitar delivers vintage-inspired tone with a more modern, player-friendly feel. At just 7 lbs even, it’s especially lightweight for a Les Paul-style instrument.
Condition
This guitar is in excellent condition (9/10).
It shows only light surface scratches, a few small dings, and very faint finish checking near the binding. Overall, it presents extremely clean.
There are no cracks, breaks, or structural issues. The neck is straight, the frets are in excellent condition with no visible wear, and the guitar plays cleanly up and down the neck with no buzzing or dead spots. It has been professionally set up and is ready to go.
The original Gibson hard-shell case is included and is in very good condition, though it does have a broken combination latch.

Electronics & Features
The dual P-90 setup is a big part of what makes this model so appealing. These pickups deliver a perfect balance between single-coil clarity and humbucker-like punch, offering excellent articulation, bite, and dynamic response.
The simplified control layout (single volume and tone) keeps things straightforward and very usable, especially for players who prefer a more direct setup.
Tone & Feel
This guitar has a lively, responsive feel thanks to its lighter weight and double cutaway design. It’s more comfortable than a traditional Les Paul, with easier upper fret access and a slightly more agile feel overall.
Tonally, the P-90s deliver everything from warm, woody cleans to gritty, aggressive overdrive. It’s a very versatile setup that works great for rock, blues, indie, and roots-oriented playing.
The SlimTaper neck profile feels fast and comfortable, making it easy to play for extended sessions.
