This incredibly rare instrument was built in a limited run of just 60 pieces to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Shinseido—an authorized Rickenbacker dealer in Japan. Crafted in the USA, this model is a faithful reissue of the original 1960s-era 4001S, finished in classic Fireglo.

This is a renewed model of the 4001 C64, with a non-reverse head that faithfully reproduces the original vintage design from the 1960s. Built with a neck-through maple body, this bass offers exceptional sustain, deep lows, and that unmistakable Rickenbacker presence. It was marketed as a high-end model at the time and constructed using carefully selected tonewoods and premium components.

This bass is in very good condition, rated a solid 8.5 out of 10, showing light scratches, a few small dings, and areas where the clear coat has softened slightly, resulting in light fogging. It has been professionally inspected and set up here at Guitar Chimp for clean action and excellent playability.

Everything on the bass is original, with no repairs, mods, or structural issues.
