For Sale: 1995 Gibson ’67 Flying V Ebony EMG Mod – Player-Grade

Up for sale is a 1995 Gibson ’67 Flying V in Ebony with a killer EMG pickup mod—perfect for anyone looking for a high-powered, road-worn V without the boutique price tag.

This Flying V is loaded with an EMG 85 in the bridge and an EMG 81 in the neck. The active pickups were professionally installed and wired with the correct pots, and the battery is neatly housed under the pickguard—no body routing required. It’s a serious metal machine with a clean, aggressive tone, very reminiscent of Kirk Hammett's early setup.

Condition:
This is a player-grade guitar with a lot of honest wear. Most notably, there’s extensive finish checking and visible cracking on the back of the headstock. We’ve examined this area carefully—it appears to be purely cosmetic and does not penetrate the wood. Still, it’s worth emphasizing visually. The body has plenty of scratches, dings, buckle rash, finish checking, and two cracks in the plastic pickguard. The control knobs are original, but the top hat inserts are missing. Despite the wear, this Flying V remains structurally solid and performs exactly as it should.

Playability:
The neck is straight, and the original frets are in excellent condition with minimal wear. It has been professionally set up here at Guitar Chimp for spot-on intonation and smooth action, with no buzzing or dead spots.
