For sale is a 1971 Gibson Les Paul Custom Black Beauty with original case. This instrument is in excellent condition and in perfect working order. There are some light scratches, dings, and a little finish checking. Overall, I would give it a solid 8.5 out of 10 condition. One of the tuning machines has been replaced with a period correct machine, but everything else on the guitar is original. There are no cracks, repairs, or major issues. The neck is straight with no issues. The original frets are in excellent condition with very minor wear. The original case works great. This guitar is marked a factory "2" right below the serial number. In the 70's and 80's Gibson would put this on guitars that had factory blemishes in the finish. By now most vintage guitars have blemishes, so there is no difference.
